Tarot è un sistema improvvisativo interattivo per musicisti elettronici ispirato alla lettura dei tarocchi: le carte degli arcani maggiori vengono utilizzate come guide, suggerimenti e metodo di comunicazione tra i musicisti posti attorno a un tavolo al centro della sala e il pubblico disposto attorno a loro durante l’improvvisazione.
L’obiettivo della performance è creare una narrazione attraverso le indicazioni delle carte, rendendo partecipe il pubblico.
Come nella lettura tradizionale dei tarocchi le carte suggeriscono una narrazione, variando di significato se si presentano dritte o a rovescio. Dritte corrispondono a un
suono, a rovescio a un’elaborazione o ad un avvenimento performativo.
Tutti i significati assegnati alle carte sono stati scelti e discussi dai membri del collettivo cercando di tradurre i significati dei simboli degli arcani maggiori in un corrispettivo
sonoro.
I musicisti possono utilizzare come materiale sonoro anche registrazioni acquisite sul
luogo della performance, per creare un legame e valorizzarne il paesaggio sonoro.

Tarot is an interactive improvisational system for electronic musicians inspired by tarot card reading. The Major Arcana cards are used as guides, prompts, and a means of communication between the musicians, who are seated around a table at the center of the space, and the audience arranged around them during the improvisation.
The aim of the performance is to create a narrative through the indications provided by the cards, actively involving the audience.
As in traditional tarot reading, the cards suggest a narrative whose meaning changes depending on whether they appear upright or reversed. When upright, the cards correspond to a sound; when reversed, they indicate a processing action or a performative event.
All the meanings assigned to the cards were selected and discussed by the members of the collective, with the intention of translating the symbolic meanings of the Major Arcana into sonic counterparts.
The musicians may also use sound material drawn from recordings made at the performance site, in order to create a connection with and enhance the surrounding soundscape.
