ITER 5 è  una composizione modulare per ensemble a organico variabile. Il brano è costruito su otto moduli, ciascuno dei quali definisce una diversa modalità di iterazione sonora.

In questa composizione il termine iterazione include tanto la ripetizione identica di un evento quanto la sua trasformazione progressiva, in cui ogni ricorrenza deriva dalla precedente introducendo variazioni di densità, altezza, dinamica e timbro, operando al confine tra continuità e discontinuità.

Ogni performer sceglie autonomamente quali moduli eseguire; durante l'esecuzione devono essere realizzati almeno quattro moduli, e un modulo già eseguito non può essere ripetuto nella stessa performance. La scelta dello strumento è libera: il brano può essere eseguito con qualsiasi strumento acustico, elettrico o elettronico, con o senza elaborazione del segnale in tempo reale.

ITER 5  is a modular composition for variable ensemble. The piece is built on eight modules, each defining a different mode of sonic iteration.

In this composition, the term iteration includes both the identical repetition of an event and its progressive transformation, in which each recurrence derives from the previous one by introducing variations in density, pitch, dynamics, and timbre, operating at the boundary between continuity and discontinuity.

Each performer autonomously chooses which modules to perform; during the performance, at least four modules must be realized, and a module already performed cannot be repeated within the same performance. The choice of instrument is free: the piece can be performed with any acoustic, electric, or electronic instrument, with or without real-time signal processing.

The performers interact through improvisation, using the iterative morphology indicated by the chosen module as a reference, while entrances and transitions from one module to another are always governed by conscious musical thought.
